Daylilies (Hemerocallis spp.) are past peak bloom in the Jenkins
Daylily Garden but many are still showy.
Tardiva hydrangeas (Hydrangea paniculata 'Tardiva') are beginning
to bloom in many locations throughout the grounds.
Summer bulbs are showy in the Intensive Gardens. Lilies (Lilium spp.)
are mostly past bloom, but some are still nice.
Water Lotus are blooming in the Japanese Garden.
Roses in the Gladney and Lehmann Rose Gardens are at the peak of seasonal
bloom and very showy.
Look for the lovely flowers of the caper vines (Capparis spinosa).
The caper you eat is the bud of this flower. Figs (Ficus carica
'Brown Turkey') are ripening high above the Moorish garden.
Colorful impatiens (Impatiens 'Showstopper Series') and the bold
foliage of Rex begonias carpet the beds beneath the camellia trees. Double
impatiens (Impatiens walleriana 'Fiesta Salmon Sunrise') and chenile
(Acalypha pendula 'Firetails') are featured in the hanging baskets.
