Tropical water lilies are in full bloom in the Milles Sculpture Garden.
Mums are flowering in the Swift Family Garden.
Roses in the Gladney and Lehmann Rose Gardens are at the peak of seasonal
bloom.
Look for the beautiful twisted flower spikes of Ladies tresses orchids
(Spiranthes cernua var. odorata) in the carnivorous plant bog in
the Shoenberg Temperate House. Deep red coleus (Solenostemon scuttelariodes
'Oxblood') surrounds the tiled fountain, and fragrant jasmine (Jasminum
tortuosum) cascades over the wall of the Moorish garden.
The sweet aroma of the Fragrant olive trees (Osmanthus fragrans)
wafts through the Linnean House. Double impatiens (Impatiens
walleriana 'Fiesta Salmon Sunrise') are featured in the hanging baskets.
A few early fall-blooming camellias are just beginning to flower.
