Fall foliage color is developing rapidly this week, with the peak yet to
come. Dogwoods throughout the grounds are especially showy. Hickories,
Sassafras, Black gum, Hop hornbeam, Yellowwood and Serviceberries are
coloring nicely. Burning bush on the islands in the Japanese Garden are
brilliant.
Late blooming asters and goldenrods combine with the fall hues of grass
and forb foliage to create a stunning autumn palette in the Kemper Prairie
Garden.
Garden mum displays in the intensive gardens are showy.
Tropical waterlilies in the Milles Sculpture Garden are still showy.
Plantings in the Swift Family Garden beds and pools are very showy.
Roses in the Gladney and Lehmann Rose gardens are showy.
