Take Back the Tap

Koma–Mawashi
Top Spinning

This art of family entertainment has really evolved from traditional Japanese children’s play. It relies on sheer skill to manipulate a plain, primitive toy top with a rope.

Dr. Hiroshi Tada’s routines include many amazing feats not found anywhere else and provide, among serious Japanese arts, unique lighthearted fun for both young and old.

Top-spinning happens throughout the festival.
