Members' Event: Vegetable Gardening with Chip Tynan. Learn what to do and what NOT to do when planning your vegetable garden from the manager of the Garden’s Horticultural Answer Service and gardening columnist for the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch. Sessions at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Shoenberg Theater. Free for Garden members and their guests.

Extended! EarthWays: Living the Green Life exhibit. Explore easy, everyday ways to protect the planet through this interactive exhibit. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Brookings Interpretive Center.

“Images of Costa Rica,” an exhibit featuring the work of nature photographer Gregory Basco. The exhibit documents the exquisite natural beauty and biological diversity of Costa Rica. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monsanto Hall, upper level of the Ridgway Visitor Center. View images from the exhibit.

“Luxuriance of Bulbs,” presentation and book signing by Anna Pavord. Author of the internationally acclaimed bestseller, “The Tulip,” Pavord’s newest publication, “Bulb,” is a guide to 540 of her favorite bulbs, offering inspiration, insight, anecdotes, helpful advice and photography to help explain the flowering size, height, planting depth and soil and climate requirements of varying bulbs, corms and tubers. 1:30 p.m. Shoenberg Theater.

Members' Event: March Morpho Mania. Experience a complete immersion into more than 3,000 blue morpho butterflies at the beautiful Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House in Chesterfield. Enjoy a special narrated tour for members with one our entomologists at 11 a.m., 12, 1 and 2 p.m. Tours are limited to 25 people per slot. Free for Garden members and their guests. “Garden of Memories,” an exhibit of photographic imagery and textile work by artist Luanne Rimel. Rimel’s works are inspired by the plants from her garden, exploring time through ideas of age, growth and earthly cycles. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monsanto Hall, upper level of the Ridgway Visitor Center.

Horticultural Therapy Awareness Day. Experience the numerous physical and mental benefits that plants and gardening provide! Explore a demonstration healing garden and learn how to incorporate its sensory stimulating characteristics to enhance your own home garden. Stop by stations to experience different plants using sight, smell, and touch, and pot a sensory plant to take home. Make an arrangement of cut flowers, and learn about enabling and ergonomic gardening tools with demonstrations.10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monsanto Hall, upper level of the Ridgway Visitor Center. Great Green Adventures: Bird-Friendly Gardens. Birds will be migrating back soon—is your garden ready? Explore the Garden and learn what makes it friendly for birds all year long. Ages six to 12 with an adult. Great Green Adventures are held the third Saturday of every month at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Meet outside the Children’s Garden entrance. $3 per child.

Eggstravaganza, presented by Peabody Energy. The Garden is a gorgeous backdrop in spring, and kids love to meet “Bunny” the Garden rabbit.
