The magnificent grove of Bottlebrush buckeyes (Aesculus
parviflora) along the tram path south of the Climatron® is in full
bloom.
Roses in both the Gladney and Lehmann Rose Gardens are at the peak of
seasonal bloom.
Many Daylilies are now blooming in the Jenkins Daylily Garden.
Figs are ripening high above the walled Moorish Garden in the
Shoenberg Temperate House. Look for the short-lived flowers of the
caper vine (Capparis spinosa). The capers you buy are the flower buds of
this beautiful plant. Gardenias (Gardenia augusta and Gardenia cornuta) are
in full, fragrant bloom.
The miniature Gardenia (Gardenia augusta 'Radicans') is in full
bloom in the Linnean House. Flowering tobacco (Nicotiana sylvestris
'Only the Lonely'), Flowering maple (Abutilon sp.) and Impatiens
decorate the fountain.
