Daylilies in the Jenkins Daylily Garden are in full bloom.
Roses in both the Gladney and Lehmann Rose Gardens are very showy.
The grove of Bottlebrush buckeyes (Aesculus parviflora) along the
Tram Path south of the Climatron® is past peak bloom, but still showy.
Bigleaf hydrangeas are flowering in several locations in the
Kemper Center gardens.
Figs are ripening high above the walled Moorish Garden in the
Shoenberg Temperate House. Look for the short-lived flowers of the
Caper vine (Capparis spinosa). The capers you buy are the flower buds of
this beautiful plant. Fragrant jasmine (Jasminum tortuosum) blankets a
wall of the tiled Moorish Garden.
The miniature Gardenia (Gardenia augusta 'Radicans') is in full
bloom in the Linnean House. Flowering tobacco (Nicotiana sylvestris
'Only the Lonely'), Flowering maple (Abutilon sp.) and Impatiens
decorate the fountain.
