Redbuds and Crabapples are in full bloom throughout the Garden.
Flowering dogwoods are becoming showy.
Daffodils and tulips are at peak bloom. The displays in the bulb
borders are especially showy where they are complimented by
underplantings of color-coordinated pansies.
Azaleas are becoming very showy throughout the grounds.
The rich fragrance of Jasmine (Jasminum polyanthemum) accompanies
the lingering blossoms of the camellia trees in the Linnean House. The
bright yellow flower spikes of the Canary Island broom (Genista
canariensis) surround the central water feature.
Sweetly fragrant white roses (Rosa banksiae 'Alba Plena') cascade
over the walls of the tiled Moorish garden in the Shoenberg Temperate
House. Daffodils (Narcissus 'Honeybird'), Fairy primroses
(Primula malacoides) and the rich blue daisies of Cineraria
'Miss Yokohama' adorn the fountain.
Flowering cherries in the Japanese Garden are past peak bloom but many
are still nice, and compliment the outstanding display of flowering
azaleas and the showy emerging foliage of the many Japanese maples.
