Roses in both the Gladney and Lehmann Rose Gardens are near the peak of
spring bloom. Especially noteworthy is Rosa 'Doubloons', a magnificent
large-flowered climber arching over the arbor in the Gladney Garden.
Iris are at peak bloom in the Goodman Iris Garden.
Rhododendrons are just past peak bloom, but most are still showy.
The Shoenberg Temperate House is filled with the heady scent of Spanish
broom (Spartium junceum). The tiled Moorish Garden is
particularly showy right now, featuring the bright coral blossoms of
geraniums (Pelargonium x hortorum 'Showcase Bright Coral') and
colorful coleus.
The rich fragrance of Confederate jasmine (Trachelospermum
jasminoides) wafts through the Linnean House. The bright yellow
flower spikes of the Canary Island broom (Genista canariensis)
surround the central water feature.
