Tropical water lilies are in full bloom in the Milles Sculpture Garden.
Tardiva hydrangeas (Hydrangea paniculata 'Tardiva') are blooming
in many locations throughout the grounds.
Summer bulbs are showy in the Intensive Gardens. Colorful foliage of unusual
caladiums (Caladium sp.) and elephant ears (Alocasia sp.,
Colocasia sp., Xanthosoma sp.) add to the floral display.
Roses in the Gladney and Lehmann Rose Gardens are at the peak of seasonal
bloom and very showy.
Look for the lovely flowers of the caper vines (Capparis spinosa)
in the Shoenberg Temperate House. The caper you eat is the bud of this
flower. Figs (Ficus carica 'Brown Turkey') are ripening high above
the Moorish garden.
Colorful impatiens (Impatiens 'Showstopper Series') and the bold
foliage of Rex begonias carpet the beds beneath the camellia trees. Double
impatiens (Impatiens walleriana 'Fiesta Salmon Sunrise') and chenile
(Acalypha pendula 'Firetails') are featured in the hanging baskets.
