Iris winogradowii

Iris winogradowii was the only species from the Soviet Union flora included in the 1978 edition of "The IUCN Plant Red Data Book." When this book was published, only a few individuals remained on Lomtismta mountain, close to Bakuriani, in the Caucasus. Since then many bulbs have been propagated, reintroduced into the wild and sent to different botanical institutions. Currently these plants may be found in trade catalogs of European horticultural firms.
