Annual bedding plants throughout the Garden are very showy. Particularly noteworthy
are the beds in the Kresko Victorian, Milles Sculpture, and Swift Family Gardens.
Tropical water lilies are in full bloom in the Milles Sculpture and Swift Family
Gardens.
Roses in both the Gladney and Lehmann Rose Gardens are in full, seasonal bloom.
Tardiva hydrangeas (Hydrangea paniculata 'Tardiva') and Surprise lilies
(Lycoris squamigera) are blooming in many locations on the grounds.
Oxeye sunflowers (Heliopsis helianthoides), Coneflowers (Rudbeckia spp.)
and Rattlesnake master (Eryngium yuccifolium) are showy in the Lucy and Stanley Lopata
Prairie Garden.
Figs are ripening high above the walled Moorish Garden in the Shoenberg Temperate House.
Fragrant jasmines are in bloom, including Jasminum tortuosum and Jasminum
officinale, blanketing the walls of the tiled Moorish Garden.
Impatiens are lush and colorful in the Linnean House. Flowering tobacco (Nicotiana
sylvestris 'Only the Lonely') and flowering maple (Abutilon 'Moonchimes')
decorate the fountain.
Cardinal flowers (Lobelia cardinalis) along the stream in the English Woodland
Garden are showy.
Only a few daylilies in the Jenkins Daylily Gardens are still flowering.
