A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

Acclivia,-ium (neut.pl.III), upward slopes, uplands, steep places [nom.sg. acclive,-is (s.n.III) on analogy with declive,-is (s.n.III), q.v. [> L. acclivis,-e (adj.B): uphill, sloping upwards];

-abundanter provenire conspiciebat Clusius in acclivi montis Wechfell, Sneberg & aliorum montium sylvosis locis (Ray), Clusius observed it to appear abundantly in the upslopes of Wechfel mountain, Sneberg and the forested localities of other mountains.

- [Abrotanum] Hoc & nobis non minus quam Lobelio in Galloprovincia, montis celsi S. Magdalenae crypta celebris acclivibus, qua S. Maximinum oppidum spectat, observatum (Ray), this [Abrotanum] observed by us and no less than Lobelius in Galloprovincia, at the grotto [La Baume]of Saint Magdalena on the famous uplands of the high mountain which looks upon the village of Saint Maximin [France].

- Invenitur in Sneberg, Snealben & Durrenstein jugis magna copia; floretque duntaxat Augusto: nam cum in acclivitatibus & circa scrobes nascatur, quas diutius insidere solet nix, serius illud florere necesse est (Ray), encountered in Sneberg, Snealben and Durrenstein peaks in great numbers; and it blooms only in August: for when it springs forth in upslopes and around ditches, which the snow is accustomed to cling to longer, it is necessary for that to flower later.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
