A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Arundinetum,-i (s.n.II), abl.sg. arundineto, less often harundinetum,-i (s.n.II), abl.sg. arundineto: “a thicket or jungle of reeds” Lewis & Short), = cannetum,-i (s.n.II), abl.sg. canneto, a place where canes grow; cf. calametum,-i (s.n.II), abl.sg. calameto: “a reed bed, marsh;” see –etum,-i (s.n.II);

- in agris, arundinetis, & aggerosis locis, Augusto mente, circa molendinum, vulgo ‘le mulina di Quinto’ (Mich.), in fields, reed-thickets and places hilly with waste, in the August month, around the mill commonly called ‘le mulina di Quinto.’

- Fungus parvus in arundinetis, circa pontem, loco dicto ‘Signa’ (Mich.), a small fungus in reed-beds, around the bridge, in the place called ‘Signa.’

- [Fungus esculentus] In arundinetis apud nos, praesertim secus Arni ripas, in loco vulgo ‘il ponte a Sigта’ (Mich.), an edible fungus. In reed-beds among us, especially along the banks of the [River] Arno, in the place commonly [sc. called] ‘il ponte a Signа.’

- [Phallus vulgaris; mushroom] in arundinetis, & ad sepes, per Scandicci planitiem (Mich.), in reed thickets, and hedge-thickets throughout the plain of Scandicci.

- in arundinetis, multis in locis, praesertim in Scandicci solo (Mich.), in reed thickets, in many localities, especially in the soil of Scandicci.

- [Clathrus ruber] in arundinetis, & ad sepes, necnon in vepretis, non raro oritur (Mich.), it not uncommonly arises in reed beds, and shrub-hedges, and also in bramble-thickets.
