Dehiscence, mode of opening by apertures, slits, pores or valves or irregularly, as in capsules or other vessels; “the act of splitting into regular parts, or in some manner dependent upon organic structure” (Lindley); “method of opening of fruits, anthers, etc. at maturity (Fernald 1950): dehiscentia,-ae (s.f.I), abl. sg. dehiscentia; see rupture;

- dehiscentia explosiva (adj.A) vel elastica (adj.A), explosive or elastic dehiscence.
