A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Pseudocyphella,-ae (s.f.I), pl. pseudocyphellae (pl.nom.): pseudocyphella; (in lichens) pores on the outer or epicortex of a lichen when the medullary hyphae extend to the surface through the lichen cortex; see cyphella,-ae s.f.I);

- [lichen] pseudocyphellae ad centrum thalli cavi apertae, pseudocyphellae open at the center of the hollow thallus.

- [lichen] superficie inferiore pseudocyphellata, pseudocyphellis sparsis vel moderate evolutis, rotundatis vel ellipticis, 0.2 – 0.5 mm longis, praecipue marginalibus; with the lower surface provided with pseudocyllellae, with the pseudocyphellae scattered or moderately developed, rounded or elliptic, 0.2 – 0.5 mm long, especially on the margins.

- [Ramalina americana] thallus pseudocyphellata, pseudocyphellis sparsis vel moderate evolutis, rotundatis vel ellipticis, paecipue marginalibus; the thallus pseudocyphellate, with the pseudocyphellae scattered or moderately produced, rounded or elliptic, primarily on the margins.

Pseudocyphellaria (s.f.I), a genus of foliose lichens with conspicuous bright yellow pseudocyphellae on the lower surface.
