A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Vacca,-ae (s.f.I), abl. sg. vacca: a cow, q.v.;

- tota herba, odorem alliaceum volatilem fortiter spirat, a bestiis saepe esa, lactem vaccarum inquinans (Swartz), the whole herb strongly emitting an aliaceous odor, often eaten by beasts, fouling the milk of cows.

- variis in locis, & praesertim in collibus ante stabulum vaccarum Domini Marchionis de Сastilione nuncupatis le [Trafitte] (Mich.) in different places, and particularly in the hillocks before the stable of cows of the Lord Marquis de Castilione called le [Trafitte].

- Нуberno tempore, multis in locis circa Florentiam, ut in rimis, & cavernulis super ingentia, & tartarea saxa, prope stabulum vaccarum Domini Marchionis de Сastilionis (Mich.), in the winter time, in many places around Florence, as in fissures and cavities upon the huge and crumbling stones, near the stable of the cows of the Lord Marqui of Castilione [Castiglione, in Tuscany, Italy).
