Vestige, rudiment, remnant, trace (Eng.nouns): rudimentum,-i (s.n.II), q.v., abl.sg. rudimento; vestigium,-ii (s.n.II), q.v., abl. sg. vestigio [> L. vestigium,-ii (s.n.II), a footstep, step; footprint, foot-track, track; the part of the foot which makes a pring, the sole of the foot; a horse-shoe; in general, a trace, mark, sign, token, vestige; <> vestigo,-are 1. To follow in the track of; to track (Lewis & Short)]; see rudiment (Eng.noun);

- ovarii rudimentum villosulum, integrum, staminibus paullo brevius (B&H), the vestige of the ovary villosulous, entire, somewhat shorter than the stamens.

- propagulis repente e foliorum vestigiis orientibus, with propagula unexpectedly arising from the vestiges of the leaves.

- (moss) dentibus peristomii margine vestigio membranae tenerriraae hyalinae quasi scarioso marginatis (DozyMoek), with the teeth of the peristome bordered with a margin with the remnant of a very delicate hyaline membrane, as if scarious.
