A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
alliaceus,-a,-um (adj.A), alliarius,-a,-um (adj.A): of the alliums, garlic- or -onion like in appearance, usually connoting odor or taste, cepaceous;

- herba odore alliaceo etiam in sicco valde foetens, herb with garlic odor even in a dry state strongly smelling (Stearn).

- sapore alliaceo; sapore alliario, with the taste of garlic.

- tota herba, odorem alliaceum volatilem fortiter spirat, a bestiis saepe esa, lactem vaccarum inquinans (Swartz), the whole herb strongly emitting an aliaceous odor, often eaten by beasts, fouling the milk of cows.
