better (adv.) melius (adv.), better, better than; compar. of bene (adv.), ‘well;’ see best; see bene (adv.);

- sed characteribus permultis Zanthoxylo melius quadrat, but by very many characters it better agrees with Zanthoxylum.

- SOULAMEA, Lam., olim inter Polygaleas enumerata, nunc melius nota ad Simarubeas recte refertur (B&H), Soulamea Lam. once numbered among the Polygaleae, now, better known, properly refered to the Simarubeae.

- cum typo melius congruit, with the type it agrees better.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
