A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
calyptratim (adv.): in the manner of a cap, or calyptra; to form, unite, press together so as to form a calyptra or cap;

- sepala et petala conferruminata, calyptratim decidua (B&H), sepals and petals fused together, deciduous in the manner of a calyptra [i.e. a cap].

- sépala et pétala in massam conicam calyptratim a pedunculi apice (seu tubo perianthii) turbinato deciduam conferruminata.(B&H), sepals and petals fused into a conical mass in the manner of a cap deciduous from the turbinate apex of the peduncle (or from the tube of the perianth).

- EUPOMIATIA. Sépala et pétala conferruminata, calyptratim decidua (B&H), the sepals and petals fused together, deciduous in the manner of a cap [i.e. a calyptra].

- Eupomatia, Sépala et pétala in massam conicam calyptratim a pedunculi apice (seu tubo perianthii) turbinato deciduam conferruminata (B&H), the sepals and petals calyptrately [i.e. like a cap] fused together into a conic mass, deciduous from the turbinate apex of the peduncle (or from the tube of the perianth).

- sepala calyptratim cohaerentia in Eschscholtzia (B&H), the sepals calyptrately coherent [i.e. in contact] in Eschscholtzia.

- calyx calyptratim dehiscens (B&H), the calyx dehiscent as a calyptra [i.e. a hood].

- calyx globosus, subcalyptratim transverse rumpendus (B&H), calyx globose, bursting transversely nearly like a calyptra [i.e. a hood].

- bracteolae oo, sepalis saepius longiores et calycem exteriorem simulantes, rarius in unam calyptratim caducissimam coalita (B&H), the bracteoles [numerous], more often longer than the sepals and resembling an outer calyx, more rarely fused into one [i.e. bracteole] calyptrately [i.e. fused into a cap] very soon falling.
