A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
cis-: in L. geographical comp., on this side of, i.e. nearest the writer; opp. trans-, q.v., on the far side of, i.e. from the writer;

- in regionibus cis- et transbaicalensibus, in regions this side (west) and the other side (east) of Lake Baikal.

- cisalpinus, this side (south) of the Alps (Stearn).

- cismontanus,-a,-um (adj.A): “situate on this side of the mountain” (Lewis & Short).

- cisrhenanus,-a,-um (adj.A): on this side of of the Rhine.

-cistiberis,-e (adj.B): on this side of the Tiber.

- Species 4 , Indiae occidentalis et Americae australis cis-tropicae incolae (B&H), species 4, inhabitants of western India and South America on this side of the tropics.
