A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

cornet-shaped, “cuculliform, hooded” (Jackson): cf. corniculatus,-a,-um (adj.A); cf. cuculliformis,-e (adj.B).

NOTE: [cornet (Eng.noun): “a woman’s cap or headdress...” (WIII); a cap resembling a cone [with an opening in the front].

“A cornette is a piece of female headwear. It is essentially a type of wimple consisting of a large, starched piece of white cloth that is folded upwards [and on a structure beneath the cloth] in such a way as to create the resemblance of horns (French: cornes) on the wearer's head” (Wikipedia “cornette,” June 2019)

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
