A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
densely (Eng.adv.): dense (adv.), comp. densius (adv.), superl. densissime (adv.), crasse (adv.), q.v. 'thickly;' confertim (adv.), q.v.; crebre (adv.),q.v., thickly, densely, heavily; crebro (adv.), ‘closely, repeatedly;’ spisse (adv.); solide (adv.) 'solidly;' see thickely; opp. laxe (adv.) ‘loosely;’ opp. rare (adv.), far apart, sparsely, thinly;

- pileus confertim pubescens, the pileus densely pubescent.

- racemi terminales densissime multiflori, racemes terminal very densely multiflowered.

- legumine dense vel moderate vel sparse canescenti sericeo vel tomentuloso, with the legume densely or moderately or sparsely canescent sericeous or tomentulose.

- pedicellisque florum indumento dense farinoso praeditis, with the pedicels of the flowers provided with a densely farinose indument.

- pagina laminae superiore dense pilosa, with the upper surface of the lamina densely pilose.

- folia crebre lineato-venosa (B&H), leaves closely linear-veined.

- differt foliis elongatioribus densius crassiusque pellucido-punctatis (Boissier), it differs by the leaves more elongate, more densely [i.e. crowdedly] and more thickly pellucidly-punctate.

NOTE: a heavy or deep color, a 'heavy red' would be 'color dense ruber' color a heavy red (densely red).

NOTE: minus (adv.) to modify the adverb: ‘minus dense;’ ‘minus crasse,’ ‘less densely;’

- frondibus minus dense setosis, with the fronds less densely (adv.) setose.
