A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
falcarius,-a,-um (adj.A): of, resembling or relating to a sickle [> L. falx, gen. sg. falcis (s.f.III), q.v., sickle]; see sickle.

Acroporium, Adenanthera falcataria; Aongstroemia falcataria

Falcaria,-ae (s.f.I): a genus of dinosaurs. The name is said to mean “sickle-cutter,” [sic] in allusion to the claws curved like a sickle, or scythe.

Falcaria,-ae (s.f.I), (botany) a genus (Falcaria. Rivin. 3.t.48). Umbelliferae > Sium falcaria [= noun in apposition].

Falcarius,-ii (s.m.II), abl.sg. falcario = Faber falcarius, gen.sg. fabri falcarii: a maker of sickles (= scythes); see faber, gen.sg. fabri (s.m.II).
