Incense: suffimentum,-i (s.n.II), abl. sg. suffimento: a substance used to fumigate; fumigation; incense; suffitio,-onis (s.f.III) , abl. sg. suffitione, a fumigating, fumigation, perfuming; suffitus,-us (s.m.IV), abl. sg. suffitu: a fumigating, fumigation; the smoke produced by fumigation; perfume, incense (i.e. fragrant smoke); see frankincense;

- Cyphi est quasi suffimenti genus, quod ex his rebus conficitur, calamo aromatico [et] cinere aspalthi libras singulas, myrrha libra una, primo cypero, iuniperis veteribus et uva elapidata; cyphi is a type of incense which is made from these ingredients: a pound each of sweet flag and ashes of camelthorn, a pound of myrrh, young galingale, ripe juniper berries, and crushed grapes (Everett).
