A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

innascens,-entis (part.B): being born in or on, growing up or spring up [in or on][> L. innascor, innatus sum, 3. deponent, to be born in, to grow on or spring up in a place]; see nascens,-entis (part. B); see ‘growing;’

innascitur: third-person singular present indicative passive: [he/she] it is born on, grows on.

- [fungus] arcte caespitosus vel fascicularis truncis putridis praeprimis abietinis innascitur fungus serotinus (S&A), a late-developing fungus tightly caespitose or in fascicles, arises primarily on rotted fir trunks.

- [fungi] innascitur varietas haecce elegantula notabilis acubus Pinorum, inprimis Abietis, hinc illinc frequens (S&A), this particular elegant, remarkable variety grows here and there on the needles of Pines, especially fir [= Pinus abies L.].

- [fungi] Duos hactenus novimus truncos abietinos vetustos, quos mira obtegit copia: alterum totum adustum, ubi ipsissimo innascitur carboni; alterum mera putredine semidestructum (S&A), we have known two thus far, which cover old fir trunks with an astonishing abundance: one the whole burned up [i.e. by fire], where it arises in the very charcoal itself; the other one half-destroyed with nothing but rot.

- [alga; Conferva] Byssus sericea fulva perelegans, tenuissima & ramossisima, rimis terrae innascens & glebas circumvestiens (Dill.), Byssus silky, fulvous, very elegant, very thin and heavily branched, springing up on the cracks and covering-over clumps of earth.

- copiose innascitur fungillus noster elegantulus epigaeus solo praesertim argillaceo subdeclivi humidiusculo inter Polytricha, in sylvis, secus vias, etc. (S&A), our rather elegant little fungus grows copiously on top of the ground, on soil, especially argillaceous [i.e. clay soil] in rather downward-sloping soil, slightly moist, among [the mosses] Polytrichum, in forests, along roads, etc.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
