Juventus, gen.sg. juventutis (s.f.III), abl. sg. juventute: season of youth, youth, youthful state; (of young persons) “the age of youth (from the twentieth to the fortieth year); youth” (Lewis & Short); juventas,-atis (s.f.III), abl. sg. juventate, “the period or condition of early manhood, youth” (Glare); opp. vetustas,-atis (s.f.III); see aetas,-atis (s.f.III);

- pileus juventute convexus, maturitate plano-convexus; pileus when young convex, when mature plano-convex.

- pileus flavus usque ab juventute ad vetustatem, the pileus yellow from youth right up until old age.

- genera nonnulla polyandra etiam Ranunculaceis affinia, et quoad semina conveniunt, differunt tamen gynoecio (prima juventute etiam in Platystemone) syncarpico (B&H), some polyandrous genera are also related to the Ranunculaceae, and approach them with respect to their seeds, they differ, nevertheless by the gynoecium (at their first youth also in Platystemon) syncarpic.

- laciniis 5, imbricatis v. subvalvatis (prima juventute semper imbricatis) (B&H), with the lacinia 5, imbricate or nearly valvate (at first youth always imbricate).

- laciniae acutiusculae prima juventute imbricatae, mox apertae v. pseudo-valvatae (B&H), the lacinia nearly acute, at first youth imbricate, soon open or pseudo-valvate.

- MERCKIA, species arctica, habitu Ammodeniae accedit, ovario pariter prima juventute septato (B&H), Merckia, an arctic species, approaches in habit Ammodenia, at first youth [i.e. at the beginning of youth] with the ovary UNIFORMLY septate.
