A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
lanosus,-a,-um (adj.A): woolly, full of woolly hairs; see lanatus,-a,-um (adj.A);

- volva (s.f.I) lanosa, a volva that forms a woolly layer on the whole cap or parts of it" (S&D). to do

- herbae caule saepius foliato, pilis nec stellatis nec lanosis (B&H), herbs with the stem more often leafy, with the hairs neither stellate nor woolly.

- lanosantherus, with woolly anthers [the 's' seems to be from 'lanosus', lanos-antherus, with the connecting vowel elided].

- herbae indumento toto v. ex parte stellato v. lanoso (B&H), herbs with the whole indument or in part either stellate or woolly.

Volva (s.f.I) lanosa, a volva that forms a woolly layer on the whole cap or parts of it" (S&D).
