A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
lapidosus,-a,-um (adj.A): full of stones, stony; “growing in stony or pebbly places” (Lindley);

- in campis siccis, lapidosis, in dry, stony plains.

- in montosis atque regionibus alpinis, inter frutices ad rupes vel ad terram lapidosam humidiusculam per totam Europam (Mueller), in mountanous [places] and alpine regions, among bushes, on rocks or on stony ground, somewhat moist, throughout all Europe.

- in cacumine schistoso-lapidoso montis Lapérouse Tasmaniae (F. Mueller), on the schistose-stony extreme top [i.e. peak] of Lapérouse Mountain of Tasmania.

- Oritur in sabulosis lapidosis descensus montis Capoulaàou dicii haud longe a Monspelio, ascendit in monte proximo elatiorique Sérane atque in planitie montium nonnullorum Cebennensium, it arises in gravelly, stony [places] of the descent of the mountain called Capouladou not far from Monspelio, rising up in the nearest and higher mountain Sérane and also in the plain of several mountains of Cebennensis.

- in locis arenoso-lapidosis ad Fitzmaurice et Victoriae flumina eorum ostium versus (F. Muell.), in sandy-stoney places at the rivers Fitzmaurice and Victoria toward the mouth of these [i.e. toward their mouth].

- [moss] In terra lapidosa, ad muros antiquos muscosos, ad arborum radices (C. Muell.), on stony soil, on ancient mossy [city] walls, on the roots of trees.
