A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
latiusculus,-a,-um (adj.A): somewhat wide, a little broad or wide;

- folia marginibus et acumine planiuscula, e basi angustiore brevi latiuscule ovata (DozyMoek), leaves with the margins and acumen somewhat flat, ovate from a narrower, short, somewhat broad base, more narrow form a short base, somewhat widely ovate.

- foliis subulatis latiusculis planis trinerviis ciliatis (DeCandolle), with the leaves subulate, somewhat wide, flat, with three nerves, ciliate.

- foliis inferioribus latiusculis brevibus densis, superioribus sepalisque angustissimis (DeCandolle), with the lower leaves rather wide, short, dense, the upper and the sepals very narrow.

- unguibus latiusculis ovarium vix adaequantibus (DeCandolle), with the claws rather broad, scarcely equal to the ovary.

- siliqua latiuscula, compressissima, oligosperma (B&H), the silique rather broad, very compressed, with few seeds.

- siliqua sessilis, compressa v. subtetragona, angusta v. latiuscula (B&H), the silique sessile, compressed or somewhat tetragonal, narrow or somewhat broad.

- cotyledones planae, latiusculaee (B&H), the cotyledons flat, rather wide.

- cotyledonibus latiusculis, radícula longiuscula (B&H), with the cotyledons rather broad, the radicle a little long.

- folia alterna, petiolata, latiuscula, sinuato-lobata (B&H), the leaves laternate, petiolate, somewhat broad, sinuate-lobed.

- semen hilo latiusculo lateri loculi appensum (B&H), the seed with a rather broad hilum, hung on the side of the loculus.

latiusculo-obtusus: somewhat broadly obtuse:

- siliculis corymbosis emarginatis sino latiusculo-obtuso (DeCandolle), with the silicles corymbose, notched, with somewhat broadly obtuse.
