A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
lilacinus,-a,-um (adj.A), also lilaceus,-a,-um (adj.A), syringeus,-a,-um (adj.A): lilac-colored; “pale dull violet, mixed a little with white” (Lindley); "lilac, i.e. 'pale dull violet mixed a little with white' (Lindley) but with more red in it and nearer purple than lavandulaceus, which has more blue and is nearer violet, both being greyed and light" (Stearn, 1983); see lavandulaceus,-a,-um (adj.A); see “Violet (Color);

- floribus malvinis vel lilacinis, with flowers mauve or lilac-colored.

- [Dichroa] flores majusculi, versicolores, cyanei et lilacini (B&H), the flowers somewhat large, changing color, dark blue and lilac.

- corolla alba, luteo et colore lilacino suffusa, corolla white, tinged yellow and lilac color.
