A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
Mollitia,-ae (s.f.I), abl. sg. mollitia; mollities,-ei (s.f.V), abl. sg. mollitie: softness, especially to the touch [> L. mollis,-e (adj.B), soft):

- [fungus] color et mollities exacte pellis murinae (S&A), precisely the color and softness of a mouse skin.

- [fungus] totus fungus primitivus liquamen sistit mollitiei in Trichospermis solitae pulposae (S&A), the whole primitive [i.e. first developed] fungus exhibits a liquid mixture of the customary pulpy softness in [species] of the Trichospermi.

- [fungi] velutina tomenti mollities colorque Ag. Pleuropodis nidulantis (S&A), the velvety softness and color of the tomentum of Pleuropus nidulans. molliusculus,-a,-um (adj.A): somewhat soft [> L. mollis,-e (adj.B), soft].
