- character levioris momenti in genere ubi stamina saepissime petalis anisomera et numero subincerta sunt (B&H), a charater of little weight in a genus where the stamens very often are asymmetric to the petals and rather uncertain as to the number.

- ovarium tamen saepssime ut in aliis speciebus 2-loculare invenimus, et character e filamentis sumptus laevioris momenti videtur; we find the ovary, however, very often is as in other species 2-locular, and the character taken from the filaments seems of more trifling importance.

- discrimina, inter hanc et var. a, intercedentia, parvi sane momenti esse, nec ad speciem separandam sufficere videntur (S&A), the interceding distinctions, between this and var. a, seem to be quite of little importance, to be not sufficient for separating it to a species.

- [moss] sed ciliae basis calyptrae vel papillae s. verrucae superficiei nullius momenti sunt (C. Mueller), but the cilia of the bottom of the calyptra, or the papillae [s. = seu, ‘or’] verrucae of the surface are of trifling importance.

(of time):

- primo momento, at the first moment, instant, instantly, immediately;

- [musci] A Gr. apocarpa reticulatione crenulata, haud leviter quadrata sub microscopio primo momento distinguitur (C. Mueller), from Grimmia apocarpa it is distinguished at the first moment [i.e. immediately] under the microscope, by the crenulated reticulation [i.e. network, areolation], not weakly quadrate.

- ab omnibus congeneribus foliis humore primo momento emollitis recedit, it recedes from all congeners [i.e. members of the same genus] by the leaves softened with moisture at the first instant.

- pulvis farinosus, primo dehiscentiae momento albidus vel tantillum saltem carneus, ad liberum aeris contactum mox intensius incarnascens in roseum denique colorem vergit (S&A), a mealy powder, at the first instant of dehiscence whitish or at least a little bit flesh-colored, at the first free touch of air soon more intensely fleshy and finally it shades into a rose color.

for a moment, for a little while: parumper (adv.), q.v., paulisper (adv.), q.v.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
