Musk, “any of various strong-smelling substances obtained from ... animals (as the musk-ox, muskrat, or civet cat [or musk deer] (WIII); “the odor of musk; an odor (as an animal scent) that resembles musk (musk of mignonette)” (WIII): moschum (s.n.indeclinable?), abl.sg. moschum; see moschatus,-a,-um (adj.A) [> Gk. moschos (s.m.II), musk; “borrowed from Persian mušk” (Liddell & Scott)];” see moschatus,-a,-um (adj.A);

- Lauro affinis arbor ligno moschum olente (Swartz), a tree related to Laurus, with the leaves wider, with the wood smelling like musk.

Moschosma,-ae (s.f.I), Reichenbach. From moschos, musk, and osme, a smell. Lamiaceae (Paxton) (note the first declension feminine of the genus name).
musk-bearing, musk-producing: moschiferus,-a,-um (adj.A).
