A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
nivosus,-a,-um (adj.A): full of snow, snowy;

- in summo jugo inter alpes nivosas Faulhorn et Wildgerst Helvetiae (Mueller), on the highest ridge between the snowy alps Faulhorn and Wildgerst of Switzerland.

- Patria. In praeruptis frigidis nivosis montis Hoheneck et Kastelberg tract. Vogesorum ad terram in stercore vaccino (Mueller), Homeland. in frigid snowy cliffs of the mountain Hoheneck and Kastelberg. in the Vogesian region on soil on cow manure.

- Columbia: in montibus nivosis provinciae Meridae, (Mueller) Columbia, in the snow-filled mountains of Merida province.

- in frigidissimis nivosis montis Assuay regni Quitensis (DeCandolle), in the coldest, snowy [sc. places] of Assuay mountain of the kingdom of Quito.
