sandy (Eng. adj.), abounding in or full of sand; “resembling, made of, or containing sand, or sandy particles, sandy; growing in sandy places” (WIII); cf. lutosus,-a,-um (adj.A), lutose, muddy; see gravel; see glareosus,-a,-um (adj.A);

arenaceus,-a,-um (adj.A) = arenarius,-a,-um (adj.A): growing on sand or in sandy places, sandy

arenosus,-a,-um (adj.A) full of sand, sandy.

sabulosus,-a,-um (adj.A), full of gravel, sandy, full of (coarse) sand; “growing in sandy places” (Lindley); syn. = sabulinus,-a,-um (adj.A), “dwelling on sand.”

saburralis,-e (adj.B), q.v.: consisting of sand, sand-; “consisting of gravel” (Glare).

- saxum (s.n.II) arenaceum, abl. sg. saxo arenaceo, sandstone.

- in terra humida vel in saxis arenosis semidecompositis (C. Mueller), on moist soil or on half-rotted sandstone rocks.

- via (s.f.I) sabulosa, (coarse-)sandy road.

- habitat in sabulosis Ohionis inferioris, it grows in sandy places of lower Ohio (U.S.A.).

arenoso-argillaceus,-a,-um (adj.A): sand mixed with clay.

limoso-arenarius,-a,-um (adj.A) = limoso-arenosus,-a,-um (adj.A): muddy or silty sand.

lutoso-arenarius,-a,-um (adj.A) = lutoso-arenosus,-a,-um (adj.A): muddy sand; sand mixed with clay or mud.

Manihot arenaria, from the sandy soil in which the species grows.
