stinging: mordens,-entis (part.B) q.v., eating into, devouring, stinging, biting; pungens,-entis (part.B), stinging, biting; stimulans,-antis (part.B); urens,-entis (part.B), stinging, burning; urticans,-antis (part. B), urticant, producing itching or stinging, urticating, stinging; urticatus,-a,-um (part.A), urticate, stung or with the capacity of stinging in the manner of a nettle; cf. ‘sharp;’

- herbae pilis vel aculeis urentibus saepius crebris armatae, herbs fortified with stinging hairs or prickles more often numerous.

- plantae pilis aculeisve rhacheos flores superantibus creberrimisque horridae, plants rough with crowded hairs or prickles overtopping the flowers of the rhachis.

- herbae pilis urentibus vel stimulis saepissime armatae (B&H), herbs most often armed with burning hairs or stings.
