tel-, tele-, telo-: in Gk. comp. ‘far, far off, distant’ [> Gk. tEl-, tEle-, ‘far, far off’ > Gk. adv. tElE ‘far, far off, far away; abroad’]

- telemorphosis,-is (s.f.III), abl. sg. telemorphose, nom. & acc. pl. telemorphoses, when “one hyha, acting at a distance, stimulates another hypha to alter tis form by sending out an opposing fusion hypha (Burgeff, 1924)” (Snell & Dick); see telemorphoticus,-a,-um (adj.A).

Telosma,-ae (s.f.I), > Gk. tEle, ‘far’ + osmE, fragrance, smell; in allusion to the great distance over which the scent carries” (Stearn 1996).
tel-, tele-, teleo-: in Gk. comp. ‘complete,’ ‘perfect;’ complete, mature (Telanthera) (Telanthropus)(WIII) > Gk. tel-, telo-, > Gk. telos, ‘end, consummation, completeness;’ complete, perfect (teleodont) (Teleocephali) (WIII); also teleio-, teleo-, > teleios, teleos, from telos 'end, consummation, completeness,' the fulfillment or completion of anything, Lat. effectus, that is, the consummation, issue, result, end of anything (Liddell & Scott); see perfect; cf. teleut-, teleuto-: in Gk. comp.;

- teleianthus,-a,-um (adj.A), ‘perfect flower,’ hermaphrodite.

- teleologia,-ae (s.f.I) > Gk. teleos, genitive of telos, ‘completion + logos, discourse, ‘the doctrine of final causes, or theory of tendency to an end’ (Jackson).

- teliospora,-ae (s.f.I), a spore produced in the final stage in the life cycle of rust fungi.
tel-, teli-: in L. comp. web- [> L. tela,-ae (s.f.I), web, tissue, mycelium].
