A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

 
thallinus,-a,-um (adj.A), thallodialis,-e (adj.B), thallodicus,-a,-um (adj.A): thalline, pertaining or belonging to a thallus;

- margo thallinus cum thallo concolor, integer, thalline margins the same color as the thallus, entire (Stearn).

- [lichen] gelatina thallina iodo addito mox violacea tincta vel vinose rubéns, qui color siccitate disparet (Nyl.), the thalline gelatin with iodine added soon stains violaceous or vinosely reddening, which color may disappear on drying.

- [lichen] TABULA II, fig. 2 : a duo grana thallina (aucta 26 diametris) (Nyl.) Table II, figure 2: from two thalline grains (magnified to 26 diameters).

Excipulum,-i (s.n.II), thallinum (adj.A), abl. sg. excipulo thallino: (fungi) “in the lichens, an exciple containing algae” (S&D); also excipulum thalloideum (adj.A), abl.sg. excipulo thalloideo.

Margo,-inis (s.m./f. III) thallinus (thallina) (adj.A), abl.sg. margine thallino (thallina): (fungi) “an apothecial margin formed of, and usually colored like, the thallus; ‘amphithecium’” (S&D).
