Thinness:

1. tenuitas,-atis (s.f.III), abl.sg. tenuitate; exilitas,-atis (s.f.III), abl.sg. exilitate; gracilitas,-atis (s.f.III), abl.sg. gracilitate; subtilitas,-atis (s.f.II), abl. sg. subtilitate (all meaning 'slenderness, fineness, thinness'); opp. crassitudo,-inis (s.f.III), abl. sg. crassitudine, grossitudo,-inis (s.f.III), abl. sg. grossitudine: thickness, density; syn. grossitudo,-inis (s.f.III);

- subtilitas cutis aetate variabilis, the fineness of the skin variable with age.

2. raritas,-atis (s.f.III), abl. sg. raritate: “the state of being loose or not dense, looseness of texture, distance apart; small in number, fewness, rarity; thinness” (Lewis & Short);

- raritas capillorum, thinness of the hair(s).

- raritas dentium magna, distance apart of the teeth large.

- raritas stellarum, fewness of stars (as opp. to multitudo, a multitude).

- flora insularum raritate specierum, the flora of the islands with a small number of species.

thin-walled: leptodermus,-a,-um (adj.A), leptodermicus,-a,-um (adj.A), with the wall of the cell thinner than the cavity; leptopleurus,-a,-um (adj.A), with thin sides or ribs; leptotichus,-a,-um (adj.A), tenuitunicatus,-a,-um (adj. A).

thinned, made thin: attenuatus,-a,-um (part.A); cf. angustatus,-a,-um (part.A, ‘narrowed;’ see narrowed.

thinning, making thin: attenuans,-antis (part.B); see narrowing.
