traditus,-a,-um (part.A): handed over, delivered, communicated [> L. trado,-idi,-itum 3. [trans + do to hand or pass over (to a person)] “to give up, hand over, deliver, transmit, surrender, consign; to deliver, commit, entrust, confide; to give up or surrender (treacherously), to betray; to give up, surrender, hand over, deliver, entrust; (with se) to give one’s self up, to yield, surrender, or devote one’s self to anything; to make over, transmit (as an inheritance); to leave behind, bequeath; to hand down or transmit to posterity (by written communication); to relate, narrate, recount; esp. passive pers. or impers., it is said, is recorded, they say, etc.; to deliver by teaching, to propose, propound, teach anything” (Lewis & Short)

especially passive pers. or impers., it is said, is recorded, they say, etc.

- tradit: third-person singular present active indicative {he/she} it delivers, transmits; recounts, narrates; teaches.

- Sachsius pulvere ejus ad sanguinem e vulneribus effluentem compescendum Chirurgos uti tradit in Eph. Nat. Cur. Ann. 2. p. 92. (Dill.), Sachsius [the Surgeon] with a powder of it for the staunching of blood flowing from wounds as he said in the Eph. Nat. Cur. Ann. 2. P. 92.
