vexillaris,-e (adj.B), vexillarius,-a,-um (adj.A): pertaining to the vexillum, q.v.; vexillary, i.e. in aestivation of Leguminosae, with the standard petal much larger than the others and folded around them; with the standard petal having a standard, as in pea-like flowers; vexillary (aestivatio vexillaris) when one part, the vexillum or standard, is much larger than the others and is folded over them, they being face to face, so that the posterior part overlaps the lateral parts and the lateral parts overlap the anterior parts (Stearn); see aestivation.

- stamina monadelpha, filamentis apice non dilatatis; rarius stamen vexillare liberum, the stamens monadelphous, with the filaments at the apex not dilated, more rarely the vexillar stamen free.

- stamen vexillare liberum, the vexillar stamen free.

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
