A Grammatical Dictionary of Botanical Latin

Watch-glass: meniscus,-i (s.n.II), abl. sg. menisco, nom. pl. menisci, acc. pl. meniscos, a concavo-convex lens; esp. one of true crescent-shaped section.
Watch-glass-shaped: meniscoidalis,-e (adj.B), meniscoideus,-a,-um (adj.A): “thin and concavo-convex” (Fernald 1950); thin and concavo-convex, like a watch-glass; concave on one side, convex on the other.

NOTE: patelliformis,-e (adj.B), q.v.: “kneepan-shaped. Broad, round, thick; convex on the lower surface, concave on the other; the same as menicoideus, but thicker” (Lindley)

A work in progress, presently with preliminary A through R, and S, and with S (in part) through Z essentially completed.
