Manual co-PI Barry Hammel has discovered a preposterous error involving the ligules of Muhlenbergia lehmanniana Henrard, alleged to measure "6.5-12 cm" in length. These would be outrageously large ligules indeed, and it is a wonder we never caught this during the editing process. Barry has established by actual measurement that the error may be easily corrected by substituting "mm" for "cm." The same error (as to the units, but with different numbers) occurs in Flora mesoamericana (but not Flora costaricensis). ERRATUM: In our last issue, several spp. of Malvaceae were reported as new to Costa Rica (see under "Leaps and Bounds"). One of these was erroneously referred to (in our paper version) as " Sida acutifolia Mill." (a name that does not exist); this is correctly Sida abutifolia Mill.   TOP
